Privacy

This site does not track you and asks you for nothing in order to serve you. There is no account and no cart: the picture books download without you having to hand over an email address, and buying a workbook happens at the payment provider, never here.

One single thing is asked of you on this site, and it is optional: your email address, if you want to be told when a book comes out. The form sits on its own page, it is never shown to you before a download, and nothing is reserved for those who sign up.

No cookies

The site sets no cookies. It shows no advertising, and it loads no share buttons, no external fonts and no embedded video.

One measurement tool, and which one

One exception to the above: the site uses Cloudflare's audience measurement, Cloudflare also being its host. It is the only thing loaded from another domain, and the only script on the page.

It counts page views, where visits come from, the kind of browser and the country. It sets no cookie, it does not try to recognise you from one visit to the next or from one site to another, and it feeds no advertising. What we get out of it are totals: how many people looked at the animal picture books this week, and from which country. Never who.

What it is for: knowing which books actually get used, so as to decide which ones to make next. A picture book takes several hours of proofing, and making them in the wrong order wastes that time.

Since nothing is stored on your device and no profile is built, there is no banner to accept. If it bothers you anyway, any tracker blocker keeps this script out, and the site works exactly the same: nothing here depends on it.

Counting downloads

Links shared on social networks may include the network, campaign and content name. The site keeps these labels during navigation and counts page views, files served and new signups by day. These totals contain no IP address, browser identifier or email address and cannot identify a person. No cookie is added. Sales on Amazon or Payhip are measured separately using the available reports.

When you take a file, the link goes through the site first, which adds 1 to a counter and then sends you on to the file. What gets recorded is three things: the name of the file, the date, and how many times. Nothing about you, not even the country: those lines point to no one and cannot lead back to you.

This counter adds no script to the page and stores nothing on your device; it works on the server, so a tracker blocker has nothing to block. It serves the same question as the measurement above, and only that one: knowing which books actually get used, so as to decide which ones to make next. A book can be much looked at and little taken away, and that only shows up if you count both.

The newsletter list

This is the only thing on this site that relates to you, and it exists only if you asked for it. What is recorded: your address, the language you want to be written in, and the date you signed up, which is what proves your consent. Not the time, not your IP address, not the page you came from, not your browser.

That list serves one purpose: writing to you when a book comes out. It is not sold or lent, and it serves no advertising. Every message carries a link that deletes your address in one click, with no name to give. And leaving really deletes it: we do not keep an address in order to remember that it wants nothing more.

It is kept at Cloudflare, in the same place as the rest of the site, and only for as long as you stay. When a release is detected, delivery is prepared automatically. The recipient's address is then sent to Brevo, our email delivery provider, solely to deliver that message. Open and click tracking is not enabled.

Search stays in your browser

The field that filters the catalogue talks to no server. The list of books is already in the page; what you type never leaves your device and is recorded nowhere.

What the host necessarily sees

Pages and files are served by Cloudflare. Like every server in the world, theirs receives your IP address and the name of the file requested: that is what lets it answer you, and no site can work otherwise. Cloudflare keeps those technical records for the security and operation of its network, under its own policy. Éditions Melmos does not consult them, does not keep them, and links them to no one.

If you write to us

An email that arrives stays in the inbox, with your address, long enough to answer you and to keep track of the correction if you report a typo. That address serves no other purpose: writing to us does not sign you up for anything, and it is given to no one. Ask for it to be deleted and it is deleted.

Children

The books are for children, the site for the adults who print them. No personal information is collected from anyone, and so none from a child either: the measurements described above produce totals only.

Your rights

In Quebec, the law gives you a right of access to and correction of personal information about you. Here the only possible piece of information is your email address, if you wrote to us or signed up for releases. To see it, correct it or have it erased, write to the address below: the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Éditions Melmos answers. For the newsletter, the leaving link at the foot of every message does the same in one click, without waiting for a reply.

If this page changes

It describes what the site does today. The audience measurement described above arrived on 16 August 2026, the download count on the 17th, the newsletter list on the 25th, and this page was corrected the same day each time. If another outside service ever comes in, it will be the same: the text first.
